A logo can be described as the face of a company.  Quite often, it’s the first thing that a potential customer will notice about your business. A logo is much more than just an image; it is a point of recognition for clients and an important foundation for the branding of your company. Customers form an opinion about a company within seconds. A well-designed logo is an easy way to convey to potential customers that your business is professional, trustworthy, and provides quality goods or services.  In fact, a logo is one of the most important branding investments a business can make.

  1. The Brief : The first most important step is to obtain a detailed brief, either face to face interview or a questionnaire. Here at HBC our designers love to get an understanding from our clients before they get started.
  2. Research: Getting to know our clients business is the next step in making a successful logo.
  3. Sketching: This is where creativity comes in to play using the brief and the research.
  4. Positioning: The designers at HBC choose how to work. They either position themselves like contractors and take order according to our client's wishes. ( ie. Don't advise clients of design matters).Or they position themselves like a business and build themselves a long term relationship (ie. Guide clients to a more appropriate solution).
  5. Presentation & Revisions: HBC presents designer's work to the client. We choose whether to show the client a huge variety of logo designs concept or we could showcase one and revise as many times as needed. 
  6. Celebration: Congratulations

Factors to Consider

     A logo should be distinctive enough to be easily recognized and simple enough to work across multiple media. A good logo is memorable and makes a great first impression. It should be effective at any size – whether it’s on a billboard or on a pen. A good logo makes an impact both in colour and in black and white.

    With logos, details are extremely important. Particular attention must be paid to every element of the logo, including colours, shapes and fonts. All of these elements help to convey a message about your brand. A gym may choose to use thick, bold fonts, while a wedding planning agency may use fanciful, cursive fonts for their logo.

     The visuals and imagery should be appropriate for your company to avoid any discrepancies or confusion. All colours, shapes, images and fonts must be consistent with the idea that is to be communicated. It’s very important that your logo delivers the correct message about your company.
